The professional seller offers for sale this 1977 Honda XL125, powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine. The XL125 was the smallest member of Honda’s XL series of dual-purpose motorcycles, which helped define the trail bike category in the 1970s. Its simple, air-cooled overhead-camshaft single, high front mudguard and slim, lightweight chassis made it an approachable and versatile machine that was equally at home on the road and on unpaved tracks. Today these early XL models are admired by collectors of vintage trail motorcycles for their uncomplicated engineering and period styling.

This example carries the period colour scheme of a black tank with orange side panels, black and white pinstriping and the gold Honda wing emblem, combined with orange mudguards and side covers and a black seat with the Honda name. It has a round headlight, a speedometer in a black housing, indicators at the front and rear, a rear grab rail and a red tail lamp. The engine cases carry the Honda logo and a 125 badge on the cylinder head, and the photos show the engine, the instruments, the controls, the rear shocks and chain, the warning label on the tank and both wheels up close. According to the seller the machine still has to be started up, and bidders should plan accordingly. It comes with Canadian papers, and the seller states that all import duties and VAT have been paid.
