Suzuki launched the TS90 in 1970 as part of its new TS range of trail motorcycles, and it quickly became a favourite with young riders and weekend adventurers. Known as the Honcho in America and the Hustler in Japan, it was powered by an air-cooled 89 cc rotary-valve two-stroke single with Suzuki’s CCI oil injection system, which removed the need to premix fuel and oil. A five-speed gearbox, a double cradle frame and a primary kick-starter that worked in any gear made it a capable and easy-going machine both on the road and on light trails. The TS90 was produced until 1976, but the early models with the high-mounted exhaust and chrome guard are the ones most sought after today. As a reminder of a time when a small Suzuki trail bike opened up a world of freedom for a whole generation, the TS90 is a nostalgic and highly collectable classic.
