The private seller offers for sale this 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI, powered by a 1.3-litre twin overhead camshaft four-cylinder engine, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Built in 1964 and first registered in January 1965, this is one of the last Giulietta saloons to leave the Portello factory before the model made way for its successor. It is finished in a delicate pale green that suits the soft, rounded lines of the Berlina perfectly, set off by chrome bumpers, chrome trim and the characteristic Alfa Romeo hubcaps. Inside, the cabin features the body-coloured dashboard with the Giulietta t.i. script, the large thin-rimmed steering wheel with the Alfa Romeo horn push, a floor-mounted gear lever and light grey cloth upholstery on the front seats and rear bench. The current owner acquired the car in October 2025 from a classic car specialist in the Netherlands, after which it was imported, passed the classic vehicle inspection valid until 28 October 2030 and was registered. Since then it has been used sparingly, mainly for a few classic car meetings in the area. The car comes with its original Alfa Romeo identification plate in the engine bay and a spare wheel in the neatly finished boot.
The Giulietta was the car that turned Alfa Romeo from a maker of hand-built exotica into a true volume manufacturer. The story began with the Giulietta Sprint coupé in 1954, followed in 1955 by the four-door Berlina, which brought a sophisticated all-alloy twin-cam engine within reach of a much wider public. In 1957 Alfa Romeo introduced the TI, short for Turismo Internazionale, a more powerful version of the Berlina with a livelier tune of the 1,290 cc engine that quickly became the choice of enthusiasts and a familiar sight in saloon car racing and rallies. Over the years the TI was progressively updated with revised styling details, a restyled front and rear and improved equipment, while keeping the light, nimble character that made its reputation.
On the road the Giulietta TI remains a delight. The free-revving twin-cam engine, with its unmistakable induction sound, rewards the driver who uses the gearbox, while the light steering and well-balanced chassis give the car an agility that few saloons of its era could match. It is a classic that can be enjoyed with the whole family, comfortable enough for longer tours yet sporting enough to put a smile on the face of any driver. As the forerunner of the Giulia and a defining chapter in Alfa Romeo history, the Giulietta TI Berlina is increasingly appreciated by collectors, and this late example offers an attractive entry into the world of classic Alfa Romeo ownership.
