The professional seller offers for sale this 1986 Yamaha BW200, powered by a 200 cc single-cylinder engine. The Big Wheel was one of the most unusual machines Yamaha built in the 1980s, a compact off-road fun bike on fat, low-pressure balloon tyres that gave it a grip and a character all of its own. Aimed at recreational riders rather than racers, it combined an easy-going single-cylinder engine with a low seat, a tubular red frame and a simple, durable chassis, and it became a cult favourite that is now a collectible in its own right.
This example carries the original colour scheme in red, white and cream, with the BW emblem on the tank, the 200 badge on the side panels and a red seat with the Yamaha logo. Both wheels are fitted with the typical large knobby tyres on silver rims, and the front is equipped with the headlight shroud and a ribbed carrier rack above the mudguard. The photos show the engine, the exhaust, the swingarm and both wheels up close. According to the seller the machine still has to be started up, and bidders should plan accordingly. It comes with Canadian papers, and the seller states that all import duties and VAT have been paid.
