The professional seller offers for sale this 1986 Yamaha BW200, powered by a 200 cc single-cylinder engine. The Big Wheel was one of the most unusual machines Yamaha built in the 1980s, a compact off-road fun bike on fat, low-pressure balloon tyres that gave it a grip and a character all of its own. Aimed at recreational riders rather than racers, it combined an easy-going single-cylinder engine with a low seat, a tubular frame and a simple, durable chassis, and it became a cult favourite that is now a collectible in its own right.
This example is finished in red and white, with a red seat carrying the Yamaha logo, a red frame and red springs on the rear suspension. Both wheels are fitted with the typical large tyres on silver rims, and the front carries a white headlight shroud above the white front mudguard. The photos show the engine, the exhaust, the chain and swingarm, the taillight and both wheels up close. According to the seller the machine still has to be started up, and bidders should plan accordingly. It comes with Canadian papers, and the seller states that all import duties and VAT have been paid.
