The Swift Motor Company of Coventry built cars from 1900 until the marque’s closure in 1931, making this example one of the very last cars to leave the factory before production ceased. Throughout the 1920s Swift’s mainstay was its dependable 10hp four-cylinder model, and from 1926 the engine was bored out to 1,190 cc to create the P-type seen here, paired with a four-speed gearbox and four-wheel brakes. Only a small number of Swifts of any type are believed to survive today, making this a genuine rarity.
