Description

Highlights:

– 6.75-litre V8 engine, petrol, automatic transmission
– Corniche two-door coupe, the coachbuilt Mulliner Park Ward model
– Silver exterior with dark blue leather interior and burr walnut veneer
– Long-term ownership before joining a larger collection

The private seller offers for sale this 1971 Rolls-Royce Corniche Coupe, powered by a 6.75-litre V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission. Finished in silver over a dark blue leather interior, this two-door Corniche carries the Spirit of Ecstasy on its classic Rolls-Royce radiator, and comes from an owner who reports long-term ownership before the car became part of a larger collection.

The Corniche was introduced in 1971 as the two-door successor to the Silver Shadow Mulliner Park Ward coupe, and it was built by hand by Mulliner Park Ward in London. It shares its running gear with the Silver Shadow, including the all-aluminium 6750 cc V8, a self-levelling hydraulic suspension and disc brakes all round, but its lower, more elegant coachwork gave it a distinct character as a personal luxury coupe. The Corniche remained in production in various forms for more than two decades, and the early cars with their slim chrome bumpers and fine detailing are among the most admired.

The interior of this example is trimmed in dark blue leather with matching carpets, and the dashboard and door cappings are finished in polished burr walnut. The instruments sit directly in front of a large, thin-rimmed steering wheel, a period radio is fitted in the centre console, and the rear seat offers generous room for two. Outside, the car shows its chrome bumpers, twin round headlamps with fog lamps below, a dark roof covering and the Corniche script on the rear panel. Photographs of the engine bay, the chassis number stamped in the bodywork and the registration documents are included in the photo set.
