The seller offers for sale this 1972 Citroën DS 21 Pallas Injection Électronique, powered by a 2,175 cc four-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Built in February 1972, it is finished in light green over a tan leather interior, a combination that flatters the flowing bodywork and gives the cabin a warm, period feel. As a Pallas it carries the most luxurious specification Citroën offered on the DS, with extra brightwork, thicker carpeting, additional sound insulation and more generously trimmed seating than the standard berline. The Injection Électronique designation sets it apart further. Introduced in September 1969, it was among the first European production saloons to use Bosch electronic fuel injection, and with roughly 125 hp on tap it sat at the very top of the DS 21 range.

When the DS was unveiled at the 1955 Paris Motor Show it looked like nothing else on the road, and it still does. Flaminio Bertoni’s aerodynamic body and André Lefèbvre’s engineering gave Citroën a car that combined hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension, power steering and powered front disc brakes at a time when most rivals offered none of the three. That technical package is what makes the DS such a rewarding car to use today: the suspension irons out poor surfaces in a way few modern cars manage, and the long-legged five-speed gearbox lets the car keep pace comfortably with contemporary traffic. The 1967 restyle brought the glass-covered headlight units, the inner pair turning with the steering, and they are fitted here. Close to 1.45 million examples of the DS were built before production ended in 1975, yet fuel-injected Pallas cars with the five-speed gearbox make up only a small part of that figure, and they remain the versions collectors seek out.

The seller reports that this example has received considerable technical attention. The front brake discs have been replaced with new items and the engine has been thoroughly set up. The bodywork has been resprayed and given a professional anti-corrosion treatment. The interior has been kept partly original, with new door panels and floor mats fitted. Included in the sale is an extensive list of the parts that have been replaced and restored, together with the invoices for the work carried out during the seller’s ownership. More than one hundred further detail photographs are available to interested buyers on request.
