The seller offers for sale a 1989 Nissan 200 SX Targa, a rare dealer-commissioned Targa conversion based on the S13 coupé and powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine linked to a manual gearbox. In 1989, Autohaus Henschel had the car converted by Schwan in Würzburg, a layout later used as a basis for further cars. It first served as a demonstrator at the dealership, then was stored for many years until Nissan reinstated it in 2016 and registered it in 2017 to the former dealer owners. The current owner acquired the car in 2019; an oldtimer valuation followed in 2020. The body was originally red but was resprayed black with pearl effect at the time of conversion, with the roof finished in gloss black; later work renewed the rear bumper, tailgate, rear spoiler and left rear wing, although the original shade was not matched perfectly. There are scratches on doors, bonnet and wings, some missing or aged decals and a deformed right headlamp cover. Inside, the near-original velour cabin shows minor wear, including small weld-spark holes on the passenger seat and a facelift driver’s seat fitted due to a defective backrest on the original, which is included. The ventilation control is inoperative, while windows, central locking, immobiliser and instruments function, and no radio is installed. Mechanically, the seller reports a solid car: the engine starts without hesitation, does not emit blue or white smoke when warm and has no unusual noises. The gearbox has some issues when shifting but operates without unwanted sounds. The car has a valid inspection, is reported free of rust and past accident damage, and benefits from ABS, power steering and disc brakes at both axles.

As a model, the Nissan 200 SX of the S13 generation occupies an interesting place among Japanese sports coupés. Rear-wheel drive, turbocharged four-cylinder engines in most markets and a balanced chassis made it a popular choice for drivers who wanted an agile yet usable car. The 200 SX combined everyday practicality, with a hatchback-style rear and reasonable comfort, with a lively character on twisting roads. Its mechanical layout has made it a favourite base for tuning and motorsport, although unmodified or lightly altered examples are now increasingly sought after. Period-correct styling, with a low nose and clean lines, gives the car a recognisable eighties and early nineties presence that appeals to enthusiasts of that era. A rare Targa-converted example such as this one adds extra appeal, offering more open-air feeling while retaining the sharp driving dynamics that helped the 200 SX build its reputation among fans of Japanese performance cars.
