The private seller offers for sale this 1973 Alfa Romeo Montreal, powered by a 2.6-litre V8 engine, paired with a manual transmission. The Montreal began life as a show car for Expo 67 in Montreal, and the production version arrived in 1970 with a body styled by Marcello Gandini at Bertone. Its most remarkable feature is the engine: a compact, quad-cam, dry-sump V8 derived from the racing Tipo 33 and fitted with Spica mechanical fuel injection, which gives the Montreal an exotic sound and character unusual for a grand tourer of its era. Only around 3,900 were built between 1970 and 1977, which makes it one of the rarest and most distinctive Alfa Romeos of the period.

This example is finished in red with a black leather interior and a wooden three-spoke steering wheel. According to the seller it has been in the same hands for more than 40 years, a valuation report is available, and a new TÜV inspection will be provided at handover. It carries German registration with the classic H plate. The seller does not state any restoration work, and the photographs show an original-looking cabin with the characteristic twin-pod instrument cluster, along with the V8 engine bay and its Spica injection system.

The Montreal’s low, wide body, the slatted headlight covers and the air intakes behind the doors give it a look that is unmistakably 1970s Italian. With the V8 up front and a five-speed ZF manual gearbox, it combines grand touring comfort with a sporting character, and it remains one of the most sought-after models for Alfa Romeo collectors.
