The seller offers for sale this 1963 Lancia Flavia Sport Zagato, powered by a 1.5-litre flat-four boxer engine, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Presented in a beautiful pale blue livery over a dark blue leather interior, this Flavia Sport Zagato shows off the model’s distinctive aluminium coachwork to great effect, with its sweeping roofline, wraparound rear screen and the sculpted double-bubble touches that have made Zagato’s work so collectible. The cabin is equally well presented, with its wood-rimmed steering wheel, full width dashboard and comfortable leather seating.

Introduced in 1961, the Lancia Flavia was a thoroughly modern design for its time, being Lancia’s first front-wheel drive production model and featuring a flat-four boxer engine mated to a sophisticated all-independent suspension layout. While the standard Flavia was offered as a four-door saloon, several Italian coachbuilders were commissioned to create special-bodied variants, with Pininfarina producing an elegant coupé, Vignale a convertible, and Zagato this striking, lightweight two-door Sport. Built largely from hand-formed aluminium panels and finished with the coachbuilder’s characteristic details, the Flavia Sport Zagato remains one of the rarest and most avant-garde of all the Flavia derivatives, with only a limited number produced during its short production run.

On the road, the Flavia’s boxer engine and front-wheel drive layout offer a refined and surefooted driving experience quite unlike many of its rear-driven contemporaries, while the four-wheel disc brakes provide confidence-inspiring stopping power for a car of this era. The lightweight aluminium body only adds to the appeal, giving the Sport Zagato a more spirited character than the standard Flavia saloon. With its rarity, distinctive styling and beautifully presented cabin, this Flavia Sport Zagato represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire one of Zagato’s most individual creations of the 1960s.
