The seller offers for sale this 1961 Triumph Herald 1200, powered by a 1200cc four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a manual transmission. Finished in a white and red two-tone colour scheme with tan upholstery, this Herald cabriolet has been fully restored and comes complete with its detachable hardtop and a spare wheel.

The bodywork and paintwork present in good order throughout, and the interior, trimmed in tan, is equally well finished. The car is registered in Spain with historic vehicle (“Historico”) status, reflecting its age and preserved condition, and comes with its spare wheel.

Launched in 1959, the Triumph Herald was notable for its separate chassis construction at a time when most rivals had moved to unitary bodies, a decision that allowed Triumph to offer the car in saloon, coupe, estate and cabriolet forms from a shared platform, and which also gave the Herald a famously tight turning circle. The 1200 model, badged for its engine displacement, introduced a more powerful engine than the original Herald and remained in production throughout the 1960s, with the cabriolet version, as seen on this example, remaining one of the most charming small cabriolets of its era with the roof lowered.

Complete with hardtop, spare wheel and full restoration, this Herald 1200 offers a usable, characterful entry into classic British motoring, equally suited to weekend touring or classic car events.
