Description

Jaguar XK8 | 1998

Highlights:

– 4.0-liter V8 engine
– Automatic transmission
– Dark blue soft top
– Beige leather interior

When Jaguar presented the XK8 in 1996, it marked the long-awaited successor to the legendary XJS and the return of classic Jaguar lines reminiscent of the E-Type. The flowing, elegant design immediately made the XK8 one of the most desirable Gran Turismos of its time. Also remarkable was what lay under the hood: the brand-new 4.0-liter V8, the very first eight-cylinder engine Jaguar had ever developed in-house. In this 1998 example, this smooth power unit is paired with an automatic transmission, allowing the XK8 to be driven the way a Jaguar is meant to be: effortless and refined. However, it is worth noting that this car has been standing still for quite some time and requires technical attention before it can hit the road again. This makes it an interesting project for the enthusiast who wants to restore an XK8 to roadworthy condition according to their own vision.

The dark blue paintwork of this XK8 shows various signs of wear and could certainly use a fresh coat. It is further equipped with a dark blue soft top, which completes the look. The chrome alloy wheels, chrome details, and characteristic oval headlights give the car its unmistakable Jaguar appearance. Inside, a typically British ambiance awaits: the beige leather interior is framed by generous burr walnut wood accents on the dashboard, the center console, and even the steering wheel. The car shows signs of wear all around, both on the paintwork and in the interior, and can therefore be called an honest and used example. The interplay between the warm beige leather, the glossy wood, and the deep dark blue paint creates an atmosphere of classic British elegance.
