The seller offers for sale this 1973 Citroën AK400, powered by a 602cc air-cooled flat-twin engine, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox.
This example is finished in a classic cream/beige colour and retains its original Spanish commercial livery for “Tomas Buendia — Huevos Frescos del Dia”, hand-painted across the rear bodywork and side panel. The bodywork shows the honest patina of age and working use, with surface wear and minor marks consistent with a vehicle of this type and history. The cabin retains its original cognac-coloured skai bucket seats, and the cargo area is notably well-preserved, with the ribbed metal floor in solid, original condition.
The Citroën AK400 is a light commercial derivative of the iconic 2CV, produced between 1951 and 1978. Known in France as the “Fourgonnette”, it was designed to bring the simplicity, reliability and economy of the 2CV drivetrain to small-scale tradespeople and artisans. Built on a modified 2CV platform, the AK400 features a raised steel van body with twin rear doors, seating for two in the cab and a useful load area of 400 kilograms. The AK series was updated progressively throughout its production run, receiving larger engines and minor mechanical revisions, and is today one of the most characterful and sought-after light commercial classics in Europe.
This particular example carries a Spanish commercial registration in the “H” historic vehicle category, reflecting its age and confirming its eligibility for classic vehicle status. The odometer shows a low indicated reading. With its working vehicle history and authentic period livery, this AK400 represents a rare opportunity to acquire a genuinely characterful survivor.
