The seller offers for sale this 1951 Renault 4 CV Décapotable, powered by a 747cc four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Presented in a striking deep burgundy red with a cream folding hood and matching cream interior, this 4 CV Décapotable is in good condition throughout. Prior to its first German registration in 2022, the car was displayed at official Renault exhibitions, giving it an interesting provenance. The engine was fully overhauled in 2023 and a new interior was fitted. The vehicle holds a current TÜV roadworthiness certificate valid until September 2026 and carries a TÜV-Nord independent appraisal at Bewertungsstufe 2+, one of the higher grades awarded under the German classic vehicle assessment system.

The Renault 4 CV was introduced in 1946 as Renault’s first post-war passenger car and became a cornerstone of French motoring through the 1950s. Designed as an economical rear-engined small car, the 4 CV was produced until 1961 with over one million units built, making it the first French car to reach that milestone. The Décapotable variant, produced in limited numbers by coachbuilder Faget-Varnet and others, offered an open-air version of the model and is considerably rarer than the standard saloon today. With its rounded bodywork, distinctive chrome grille and characteristic rear-engine layout, the 4 CV Décapotable is a charming and sought-after representative of early post-war European motoring.
