The private seller offers for sale this 1926 Hispano Suiza I6, powered by a 4.6-litre inline-six engine, paired with a manual transmission. Hispano-Suiza was founded in Barcelona in 1904 and became one of the most prestigious automobile and aero-engine manufacturers in Europe. Under the direction of the Swiss engineer Marc Birkigt the company built luxurious, technically advanced cars throughout the 1920s and 1930s, and its stork mascot, taken from the emblem of a French fighter squadron that flew Hispano-Suiza powered aircraft, became one of the most recognisable on any bonnet.

The seller describes this car as a prototype and the only one in the world. It is a saloon with two-tone blue and cream coachwork, black wire wheels, a spare wheel mounted on the front wing, a radiator with the Hispano-Suiza script and the stork mascot, and large separate headlamps. The interior is trimmed in brown leather with matching door cards, and the dashboard is finished in burr wood with a full set of period instruments. The photographs show the engine, with the Hispano-Suiza name on the cylinder head, and the car is offered with Austrian registration.

An open-bonnet look at the engine shows an inline-six with a row of individual exhaust ports, a Hispano-Suiza cylinder head cover and the engine number plate. A car of this period and pedigree, offered as an apparently unique example, is of great interest to collectors of pre-war luxury automobiles, to marque specialists and to museums.
