The seller offers for sale a 1931 Ford A Traveller powered by a 3.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a manual gearbox. This rare model is described as the only known example in Europe, originally produced in a batch of ten vehicles in 1931. It was recreated during a 2012–2014 restoration using original factory drawings, with several trips to the United States to source authentic hinges, fittings and wood elements. The body is built in American maple with birch veneer, while the interior includes leather seating, a bed, a cupboard and integrated storage as originally designed for the Traveller. LED lighting has been added for safety.
The Ford Model A holds an important place in automotive development, produced between 1927 and 1931 as Ford’s successor to the famous Model T. Offering more refinement, improved braking, better drivability and a wide variety of body styles, it became a favourite among families, tradesmen and travellers. The Model A’s straightforward mechanical layout made it reliable on long journeys, and its robust construction contributed to its strong reputation worldwide. Variants such as the Woody-based Special Delivery and Station Car highlighted Ford’s ability to adapt the model for professional and recreational use. Today, the Model A continues to appeal to collectors for its charm, mechanical simplicity and historical significance, offering an engaging driving experience that reflects the early evolution of motoring.
