Originally a European-specification car, it was exported to the United States at some point in its history, where it underwent a professional restoration carried out by Ferrari specialists with a focus on preserving original materials throughout. The car was subsequently reimported to Spain approximately eight years ago and is currently registered in the United Kingdom. It is held in a sizable private collection overseen by a full-time mechanic who regularly starts and exercises each car to keep everything in working order. The 250 GTE starts readily both cold and hot, retains its original power output following the complete engine rebuild carried out during the restoration, and is maintained on a battery conditioner when not in use. The paint presents with good gloss and shine, though minor scuffs are visible and one of the front rubber bumper stops has caused slight marking to the chrome over time, details documented in the photographs. The Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 was produced between 1960 and 1963 and holds the distinction of being the first series-production four-seat Ferrari. Based on the platform of the celebrated 250 GT series, the 2+2 was bodied by Pininfarina and introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1960, offering a practical grand tourer layout without sacrificing the character of the V12 drivetrain. The car is powered by Ferrari’s iconic Colombo-derived 3.0-litre SOHC V12, producing around 240 horsepower and driving through a five-speed gearbox. Its combination of elegant Pininfarina coachwork, genuine usability with four seats, and V12 performance made it a significant commercial and critical success for Ferrari. Enzo Ferrari himself used a 250 GTE as his personal daily transport for several years. Production totalled 974 units across three series, making each survivor a significant piece of Ferrari history.
