The seller offers for sale this 1975 BMW 2002 Turbo, equipped with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and manual transmission. This is one of the most sought-after models in the 02-series, presented here in good condition. The paint is estimated to be 95% factory-applied, with only a small portion refinished at a specialist workshop. The interior is also in good condition, retaining its authentic character. The gearbox does not shift smoothly according to the form, but produces no abnormal noises. This Austrian-registered example represents a rare chance to acquire a highly preserved 2002 Turbo that has escaped the restoration work often seen on these cars.
With chassis-no. 4291653 the car is the 19 latest which was build from this iconic car and so has all the internal modifications and improvements made over the lift-time of the series fully included. Car´s interior is of highest originality with only the seat-surface of the driver’s seat new upholstered. The power train was dismantled and new build-up with new parts only used where required and is in good working condition. This covers engine, gear-box, drive-train, brakes and suspension. It still has very seldom “original” turbocharger installed in its engine compartment. This is almost unique in the current market. The car drives in a good manner with the very typical turbocharger-hole with the following explosion of power. The car has it original supplied rims with relevant production dates shown. Rims were re-worked and new painted according to relevant valid original painting specifications and has new “replica” Michelin tires with tire-design and profile according to original delivery specifications to keep the unique driving feeling full in place.
