When you submit a vehicle to Route 66 Auctions, you formally instruct us to list the vehicle in up to three auction rounds. From that moment on, Route 66 Auctions invests in marketing campaigns, promotion, expert review, platform publication and other preparation costs.

Once your vehicle has been approved and scheduled for an auction, it is not possible to withdraw it free of charge. By that stage, marketing activity has already begun and potential bidders may already be following or bidding on your vehicle.

Withdrawal of a vehicle from a scheduled or live auction is therefore generally not possible.

Penalty for failing to deliver the vehicle

If a seller fails to deliver the vehicle to the buyer, Route 66 Auctions reserves the right to hold the seller liable for any resulting losses. In some cases, these losses will be recovered partly on behalf of the winning bidder.

The fee for failing to deliver a vehicle is 15% of the agreed reserve price.

Example:
Reserve price: €25,000
15% of €25,000 = €3,750
You would owe €3,750 if you fail to deliver the vehicle to the buyer.

Penalty for cancelling the auction listing

Route 66 Auctions will only remove a vehicle from an auction in exceptional circumstances, in order to avoid disappointing bidders and to protect the integrity of the platform.

If a seller requests removal of a vehicle from a planned or ongoing auction, the costs already incurred will be charged.
The cancellation fee is €2,500, payable immediately. The vehicle will only be removed once this payment has been received.

If this amount is not paid on time, the vehicle will remain in the auction. If the reserve price is reached, the seller will then be charged both the 15% non-delivery fee and the €2,500 cancellation cost.
