The seller offers for sale this 1984 March 84G-07 Group C, an iconic endurance racing prototype with direct links to Mazda’s early Le Mans ambitions. This chassis, number 07, was built by March Engineering in the United Kingdom and supplied new to Mazdaspeed. It is powered by a 1.3 litre 2-rotor Mazda 13B rotary petrol engine with twin turbochargers, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine was replaced during a restoration process and the car starts without problems. During restoration, numerous components were newly manufactured, including a new fibreglass body, while the original body is retained as a historic spare. Technical specification follows 1984 World Endurance Championship configuration.

During the process of restoration the whole engine was replacedwith a new unit, together with the turbochargers, unique top-mount intercooler and pretty much all of the engine baycomponents you see here. The most interesting part is definitely the honeycomb aluminium monocoqueChassis with double wishbones suspensions, coil springs over dampers and anti-roll bars throughout.A new fibreglass body kit was also produced, while the old one hanged on the wall as a true historicmemento. Furthermore, we find a split inlet fuel tank, dry sump system with oil reservoir and a total ofthree air jacks to lift the car during maintenance.

A part of the specs includes:
– Mazda 13b rotary Mazdaspeed R2 engine
– 2-rotor 1308cc / 79.8ci- Power, 550-600 Hp @ 8,000 rpm
– Torque, 448 Nm @ 6,000 rpm- 450 Hp/Litre
– Rear Wheel Drive
– Hitachi HT20B Twin Turbos
– EFI 2+2 Injectors, Twin billet fuel rails
– 4x Individual Coilpacks
– Turbosmart Wastegate

This formidable 1984 March 84G-07 is the rotary car that represents the true origins of Mazda at Le Mans, a real masterpiece that has been meticulously restored to its former glory. With a richheritage and iconic status, it is a symbol of automotive excellence and rotary engine ahead of its time.

The March 84G was designed to compete in the Group C and GTP categories and is associated with renowned designer Adrian Newey. Built around a honeycomb aluminium monocoque chassis with double wishbone suspension, ventilated disc brakes and advanced aerodynamics, the 84G represented cutting-edge endurance technology of its era. This particular car competed at the 1984 Fuji 1000 km before the rotary programme evolved into the later 767B and 787B projects. Since 2014 it has been part of the Mortimer Motorsport collection and has appeared at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
