Description

Citroën 2CV Burton | 1988

– 602 cc, 2-cylinder petrol engine with manual transmission
– Built on 2CV chassis, converted to Burton No. 219 in 2002
– Poly-fibre body (no rust possible)
– Recent mechanical overhaul and new Michelin whitewall tyres
– Low documented mileage of only 15.400 km

The seller offers for sale this 1988 Citroën 2CV Burton, a beautifully executed cabriolet conversion built in 2002 as Burton No. 219 — one of around 1,400 units produced. Based on a 1988 2CV chassis, it combines classic French engineering with the retro charm of a handmade roadster. In 2022, the car was officially classified as a historic vehicle by the Luxembourg Automobile Club (ACL). Recent maintenance includes new brakes, starter motor, fuel pump and hoses, battery, and a general mechanical check. It is equipped with disc brakes, a 3-point safety belt system, and a retractable soft top.

The polyester bodywork shows no signs of rust and maintains a smooth, glossy finish. The cabin features a vinyl bench seat and the original 1988 rear seat, all in good condition. A period-style retro radio adds a touch of authenticity. The car starts easily, runs cleanly without smoke or noise, and shifts smoothly through its manual gearbox.

This car comes with a valid technical inspection until September 2026 and is ready to drive.

The 2CV Burton represents a creative reinterpretation of the legendary 2CV, combining its light, reliable mechanics with a timeless roadster aesthetic. Lightweight, agile, and charmingly minimalist, it delivers a pure open-top driving experience that captures the spirit of classic motoring in its simplest form.
