The seller offers for sale this 1965 Austin-Healey BJ8 MK III, a beautifully restored example of the iconic British roadster. Purchased in 2017 and originally from the USA, this car underwent a restoration, including a brand-new chassis and a complete rebuild of the engine, gearbox, and overdrive in England. It is finished in elegant Golden Beige Metallic with a beige Dubai leather interior, all in good condition. Numerous mechanical upgrades were installed to enhance reliability and performance, including a Denis Welch Rallye DWR8 camshaft, Revotec electric cooling fan, additional oil cooler, and electronic ignition. The car also features a polished aluminum valve cover, INOX side exhaust, Lucas fog lights, SPAX gas shock absorbers, and 72-spoke wire wheels. The interior includes a Motolita steering wheel, Retrosound vintage radio with Focal speakers, and a battery charger connection. The soft top is new and made of alpaca fabric. The car has seen little use since its restoration and remains in good mechanical and cosmetic condition.
The Austin-Healey 3000 MK III, produced from 1963 to 1967, represents the final and most refined evolution of the Big Healey line. Powered by a robust 2.9-liter six-cylinder engine with overdrive, it delivers both spirited performance and classic British charm. Known for its blend of power, comfort, and elegance, the BJ8 was a favorite among enthusiasts seeking grand touring capability in an open-top sports car. Its timeless styling, strong performance, and distinct exhaust note have made it one of the most sought-after British classics. This meticulously restored example combines originality with subtle performance enhancements, offering an ideal balance of authenticity and drivability.
The soft top is newly fitted in premium alpaca fabric, perfectly complementing the car’s restored condition and ensuring a refined open-air experience.
