The professional seller offers for sale this 1985 Kawasaki KX500, powered by a 500 cc single-cylinder two-stroke engine. The KX500 was the largest and most powerful motocross machine in Kawasaki’s range, a legendary open-class two-stroke that was feared and respected for its brutal power delivery. It was one of the first bikes to adopt Kawasaki’s Uni-Trak rear suspension, with a single shock operated through linkage, which gave the big single far better handling than its predecessors. Models from the mid-1980s have become highly collectable among vintage motocross enthusiasts.
This example wears the traditional Kawasaki green with white and blue graphics, with a blue seat carrying the KX logo, black number plates on the front and side, and 500 badges on the tank and side panels. The aluminium swingarm bears the Uni-trak lettering and the machine has a front disc brake, spoked wheels with knobby tyres and an aftermarket silencer on the right side. The photos show the engine, the expansion chamber, the rear shock, the swingarm and both wheels up close. According to the seller the machine still has to be started up, and bidders should plan accordingly. It comes with Canadian papers, and the seller states that all import duties and VAT have been paid.
