The professional seller offers for sale this 1964 Suzuki T10, powered by a 246 cc two-stroke parallel-twin engine. With its gleaming chrome tank and textured knee pads, silver side panels with Suzuki script, black frame, deep valanced fenders and generous chrome details, this T10 shows the elegant design language of Japanese motorcycles from the early 1960s in its purest form. The odometer indicates 18,279 miles. The motorcycle comes with an attractive set of period literature, including the Suzuki owner’s manual, the parts catalogue and the service manual for the 250 T10, a real bonus for any collector. Further details include the Suzuki type plate on the frame, the headlight nacelle with its integrated speedometer, the rear luggage carrier, indicators front and rear and the twin chrome exhausts. According to the seller, the motorcycle will need to be recommissioned before it is used again. Import duties and VAT have been paid according to the seller.
The T10 was built from 1963 until 1967 and was one of the models that established Suzuki as a serious manufacturer of larger motorcycles. Derived from the earlier Colleda TT, it combined an air-cooled 246 cc two-stroke parallel twin with twin carburettors and an improved pressed-steel frame, and it was remarkably well equipped for its time with an electric starter and a hydraulically operated rear drum brake, features that were rarely seen on motorcycles of this class in the early sixties. In the United States it was sold as the El Camino, paving the way for the famous T20 Super Six that followed. Today the T10 is a rare sight, valued by collectors of early Japanese motorcycles for its quality, its period styling and its important place in Suzuki’s history. Examples that come with their period documentation, like this one, are particularly appealing.
