The seller offers for sale this 2001 Ducati 996, powered by a 996cc L-twin engine, paired with a manual gearbox. Introduced in 1999, the 996 carried forward the design language of the legendary 916, wrapping a tubular steel trellis frame, single-sided swingarm and the model’s signature stacked twin exhausts beneath the tail around one of the most recognisable superbike silhouettes of its generation. The desmodromic L-twin engine gave the model its distinctive character on road and track, and the 996 name is closely associated with Ducati’s period of dominance in the World Superbike Championship.

This example is fitted with a twin-injector-per-cylinder fuel system, a configuration Ducati derived from its factory WSBK effort to increase fuel delivery at high revs, together with titanium connecting rods produced by the Austrian firm Pankl (a supplier also used by Formula 1 and World Superbike teams), and magnesium components including the exhaust spider and a 50mm exhaust. According to the seller, the timing belt and tyres were renewed approximately 1500 km ago, and the motorcycle carries a valid technical inspection (ITV) and current insurance.
