The seller offers for sale this 1971 Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce, powered by a 2.0-litre twin-cam four-cylinder engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in red over a beige interior, this 2000 GT Veloce is a Bertone-designed coupe that the seller reports was imported from Italy in 1995 and has been in his ownership since 2014. During that time a great deal of work has been carried out. Everything requiring attention in the metalwork has been addressed, and the engine and gearbox have been overhauled by a specialist. The suspension has been renewed with new Koni shock absorbers, and a new clutch and clutch cylinders have been fitted. New Pirelli Cinturato tyres and a new exhaust system have also been installed.

The interior is described as tidy and probably original, with the dashboard veneer renewed using genuine original veneer; the seller notes two small cracks in the dashboard. The car has been resprayed and presents neatly, although the seller points out that, owing to a fault by the painter, the doors are very slightly lighter in colour. As the engine overhaul is recent, the seller advises that after a short running-in period the bolts should be checked and the carburettors fine-tuned.

The 105-series Giulia coupe, styled by a young Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, is one of the most admired shapes of the 1960s and 1970s. The 2000 GT Veloce sat at the top of the range, combining the 1962cc twin-cam engine, a five-speed gearbox and disc brakes all round with elegant, timeless bodywork. These cars are prized by enthusiasts for their willing engines, communicative handling and classic Italian design, and they remain a cornerstone of the Alfa Romeo collector world. This example is presented in good condition.
