The seller offers for sale this 1971 Renault Estafette 800, powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. Finished in a striking deep blue with contrasting cream roof and yellow accent details, this Estafette has been transformed into a characterful campervan. The rear has been fitted out with painted poplar woodwork finished in plant-based paint, oak worktops and rattan cane cabinet fronts, giving the interior a warm and natural feel. Two kitchen blocks measuring 500 x 600 mm are fitted, one of which is mobile, together with a ceramic sink and tap, a 12V water pump with a 20-litre reserve, a plancha grill and a 30-litre fridge. A retractable desk allows the owner to work or dine inside, while a two-part comb-style bed measuring 190 x 140 cm converts the living space for overnight stays. The conversion is completed by a P17 socket, a motorhome awning, an outdoor four-seat table, two chairs and a separate outdoor kitchen table.
Since the current owner acquired the vehicle in August 2021, considerable work has been carried out, with more than 6,000 euros invested over four years and all invoices available. The mechanical side has been comprehensively overhauled, including the chassis, battery, brakes, tyres, filters, seals and alternator. The electrical system was completely renewed in early 2024 with a 135 Ah lithium battery, a 200 W solar panel and a 1000 W inverter. The van has been carefully maintained and stored dry, undercover and beneath a protective cover. An expert valuation report was issued, and the vehicle carries a valid French technical inspection dated 2 December 2025 with no re-inspection required.
The Renault Estafette was introduced in 1959 as Renault’s front-wheel-drive light commercial van, and it went on to become a familiar sight throughout France during the 1960s and 1970s. Praised for its practicality, generous load space and easy access, the Estafette served countless tradesmen, small businesses and public services during its long production run. Today it enjoys a devoted following among enthusiasts, and its distinctive, friendly styling makes it an appealing base for camper conversions such as this one. This particular example is well known within the classic vehicle community in the ÃŽle-de-France, regularly attending gatherings and club events, and drives, brakes and shifts as it should.
