The seller offers for sale this 1927 Citroën B14 G Caddy, powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, paired with a manual transmission. This is an interesting and rare B14 G fitted with the open three-seat Caddy bodywork, finished in green with a cream interior. According to the seller, the Caddy versions are rare because they were built using the remaining stock of Caddy bodies originally intended for the earlier Citroën B2; after that model was discontinued, the bodies were mounted on the longer B14 chassis and marketed, with only around ten examples believed to exist. The current owner acquired the car around twenty years ago from a dealer in the north of France. The car was restored many years ago and now needs some recommissioning work, as can be seen in the photographs, and the seller notes that the carburettor would benefit from adjustment or replacement. It retains its Caddy-specific accessories, including the small golf club holders on the sides, and is currently registered in Spain as a Historical Vehicle.
The Citroën B14 was produced from 1926 and represented an important step forward for the marque, introducing an all-steel body and four-wheel brakes at a time when many rivals still relied on traditional construction. It helped establish Citroën as a leading mass-producer of dependable, modern motor cars in 1920s France. The Caddy variant, with its sporting open coachwork and distinctive details, is among the most charming and collectible interpretations of the model.
With its elegant green coachwork, period cream upholstery and genuine rarity, this B14 G Caddy is a delightful pre-war Citroën that will appeal to enthusiasts who love unusual and historically interesting classics. After a sympathetic recommissioning it promises to reward the discerning Citroënist with a truly distinctive vintage motoring experience.
