The Kawasaki Z1300 was introduced in 1979 as one of the most ambitious motorcycles of its era, a water-cooled, inline six-cylinder tourer that displaced 1,286 cc and produced around 120 horsepower in standard trim. Developed to rival the Honda CBX and to establish Kawasaki at the top of the large-displacement touring market, the Z1300 was remarkable for its engineering complexity and sheer presence.
