The seller offers for sale this 1989 Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar, powered by a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This 1989 Mitsubishi Pajero carries the full race livery of the legendary Sonuto Mitsubishi #189 Dakar entry, finished in white, red and black with period-correct Bridgestone, Shell and Nikon sponsor graphics. The odometer shows just 8,500 km. The vehicle is located in Pest county, Hungary, and carries a Hungarian registration. The interior has been comprehensively prepared for competition use, featuring a MOMO flat-bottom steering wheel, bucket seats with multi-point racing harnesses, a roll cage and full safety equipment. Official Dakar Rally 2025 Saudi Arabia and FIA plaques are affixed to the interior. A matching 1:43 scale die-cast model of the same livery is included with the sale.
The Mitsubishi Pajero is one of the most celebrated off-road vehicles in motorsport history. First introduced in 1982, the Pajero went on to dominate the Dakar Rally, accumulating twelve overall victories across its competition career. The first-generation short-wheelbase Pajero — as seen here — was the model that laid the foundations for that dynasty, combining a rugged body-on-frame construction with capable four-wheel-drive hardware. The Dakar edition designation references the rally-tribute variants and builds that cemented the Pajero’s place in off-road legend.
