The seller offers for sale this 1977 Volkswagen Beetle 1303 Cabriolet, presented in the rare Kolibigrün (POR25) color, originally a Porsche shade applied by Volkswagen to a very small series of cabriolets for the German market. According to the seller, this unique example is also the only Beetle model factory-equipped with fully tinted glass. The car retains its original ATS alloy wheels fitted with Michelin tires, and comes with its original German papers and Fahrzeug Identitäts Urkunde from the Stiftung AutoMuseum Volkswagen. Recently restored, it received new chassis plates, a stripped and repainted body, and a new Sonnenland convertible roof with inner lining and insulation. The interior features newly upholstered seats, rear bench, carpets, and refreshed luggage compartments. Mechanically, the brakes, clutch, and engine were renewed, with the motor partly overhauled and fitted with new spark plugs, filters, and fluids. The car starts without hesitation and shows no rust or accident history.
The Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet has long been celebrated as one of the most charming open-top classics, combining everyday usability with timeless design. The 1303, introduced in the 1970s, represented the most advanced iteration of the Beetle, with curved windscreen, improved suspension, and upgraded safety features. As the open-top version, it retained the Beetle’s character while offering an extra level of driving pleasure. Rare color schemes and unique specifications, such as those featured on this example, make it especially desirable for collectors. Today, the Beetle Cabriolet enjoys strong popularity worldwide for its heritage, reliability, and fun factor, appealing to enthusiasts and collectors alike.
