Description
Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet | 1970
– 1.6L, 4-cylinder petrol engine
– Manual transmission
– Technically and optically restored
The seller offers for sale a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet with manual transmission and a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine. Professionally restored a few years ago with a body-off approach, this Beetle was stripped, repaired as needed, and repainted in its original Diamond Blue (L50B). The shell received a zinc treatment, inner wheel housings were finished in paint, and no concealing coatings were used. It has a recent technical inspection certificate and is currently enjoyed as a weekend cruiser. The engine starts without issues, runs clean when warm, and makes no unusual noises; the gearbox shifts smoothly and is quiet. The car shows no visible rust, no accident history, and the engine remains dry. Brakes, steering, and suspension were renewed during the restoration; clutch and transmission were checked and serviced where needed. Technical upgrades include a revised 1200 upgraded to a 1600 dual-port with new bearings, cylinders, gaskets, an electric fuel pump, and a more efficient exhaust for livelier road manners. It is an original cabrio with correct cabrio chassis prefix.
The soft-top was comprehensively renewed by a specialist with a new frame, headliner, insulation, and outer canvas. A wind deflector was added for calmer open-top cruising. Seats were refurbished and present neatly with only light wear from gentle use.
The Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet blends timeless styling with approachable driving dynamics. Known for its friendly character and simple mechanics, it offers open-air enjoyment at modest speeds and attracts attention wherever it goes. Parts support and community knowledge are substantial, making ownership straightforward. The convertible’s compact size and durable air-cooled engine suit scenic drives and relaxed touring, while the folding roof and practical layout keep it usable across seasons. For enthusiasts seeking charm, heritage, and ease of maintenance, the Beetle Cabriolet remains a beloved classic.
