The seller offers for sale this 1974 Triumph Stag, powered by a 3.0-litre V8 petrol engine, paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. This example was first registered in England on 13 February 1974 and was imported to Germany in 2004, after which the previous owner carried out a restoration between 2004 and 2010. The engine underwent a complete overhaul at a specialist engine garage in 2013, and extensive photographic documentation and invoices are available for both the restoration and the engine work. In the current ownership since October 2015, the car has been looked after by a Triumph Stag specialist over the last six years, where regular maintenance is also performed. The work carried out includes an exchange power steering unit, a differential overhaul, renewed soft-top mechanism and rubber seals, a replacement right-hand drive shaft, a high-performance starter motor, an alternator, an original-specification water pump, new timing chains, a cylinder 7 bypass to help prevent overheating, an oil pressure gauge, a coolant expansion tank modification and a new battery installed in July 2026.

Finished in English Green, the car is fitted with a tubular exhaust manifold and comfortable leather seats. The seller notes some age-related points openly: the rear bumper has two small dents, the front bumper shows minor surface rust spots, the original fabric roof shows its age but remains watertight, and the ignition switch has a contact issue and has been bypassed, allowing the car to be started via a push-button if necessary. The car is driven only in dry weather and stored in a dry, heated garage.

The Stag was Triumph’s flagship grand tourer, launched in 1970 and styled by the Italian designer Giovanni Michelotti. Its elegant lines, distinctive T-bar roof and genuine 2+2 seating made it a stylish and practical open tourer, while its unique 3.0-litre V8 with dual overhead camshafts gave it a soundtrack all of its own, producing 146 hp and a top speed of around 195 km/h. Parts availability remains excellent thanks to a dedicated specialist network, and well-sorted examples with documented history, such as this one, are increasingly appreciated by collectors. With its specialist maintenance, comprehensive documentation and honest presentation, this Stag offers characterful British V8 motoring in good condition.
