The seller offers a blue 1973 Triumph GT6 with a 6-cylinder engine and 4-speed overdrive transmission. The vehicle is a right-hand drive car that was brought to Germany from Great Britain in 2015; a few documents relating to the previous British ownership are available. Subsequently, a restoration was carried out in Germany, including disassembly of the vehicle (including sandblasting of the body, rebuilding the engine and transmission, restoration of the entire interior, repainting, completely new 12V electrical system, etc.) with extensive documentation by the previous German owner in the form of photos and documents (invoices, etc., two folders full). The car subsequently received a German H-license plate in 2017 and was recognized as a classic car. Several appraisals are available. The vehicle features optional extras such as a roof rack, an air scoop, and classic pancake-style sports air filters, a USB radio in a vintage design, as well as an additional set of summer tires on 14-inch Minilite rims and a set of winter tires. The original 13-inch steel rims were fitted with new summer tires in 2024. The underbody was sealed with Mike Sanders anti-corrosive grease. Furthermore, 3-point seat belts were installed. A dual-bracket stainless steel exhaust system was also installed (registered in the vehicle documents). Last service with oil change in 2023/2024. The vehicle is driven regularly.
Blue tone of the new paint job from December 2016 according to RAL code with a few current scratches, superficial paint damage in the rear left fender, front/rear bumpers painted in black with small heat-related cracks above the exhaust tailpipes.
Original condition with some additional instruments and a Moto-Lita leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob (a wooden shift knob/steering wheel is also included). All instruments work. The carpet in the driver’s side footwell shows wear. Adjustable black original seats with vinyl upholstery (new upholstery/cover in 2016).
The Triumph GT6, introduced in the late 1960s, was developed as a coupe version of the popular Spitfire and quickly earned the nickname “the poor man’s E-Type.” Designed by Giovanni Michelotti, the GT6 featured elegant fastback styling and a smooth inline-six engine, offering both style and performance in a compact package. By 1973, the model had evolved into its third and final series, known for improved handling and comfort, while still delivering the spirited driving experience British sports cars are famous for. This example, showing 65,350 miles, represents a classic driver’s car with timeless design and collectible appeal.
