The seller offers for sale this 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0, powered by a 3.0-litre air-cooled flat-six engine, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. This left-hand-drive example was originally delivered new in France through Sonauto and is presented in grey with a Martini-style adhesive livery applied in 2017. The car has been prepared for historic competition use, taking part in events such as the Ferdinand Cup from 2014, and is fitted with Recaro bucket seats, a harness, a bolt-in roll cage, a footrest, a Momo steering wheel and a Wevo shifter. It also features aluminium 2.4 S brakes and a 3.2-litre oil cooler, and is accompanied by a comprehensive history file including a 2016 PTH regularity record.
The Carrera 3.0 was produced for the 1976 and 1977 model years and is one of the more exclusive of the G-series 911s. It used a naturally aspirated version of the 930 Turbo’s three-litre crankcase, combined with the wide-body styling that had first appeared on the famous Carrera 2.7. Only 3,690 examples of the Carrera 3.0 were built, of which the left-hand-drive coupé accounts for just 1,502 cars, making it a relatively rare model within the long-lived G-series family. Its combination of the larger three-litre engine and purposeful wide-arch bodywork has made the Carrera 3.0 increasingly appreciated among collectors.
For the enthusiast, the appeal of this car lies in its blend of usable air-cooled flat-six performance and genuine historic competition preparation. The five-speed manual gearbox, lightweight competition seats and period-correct upgrades give it a focused, motorsport-inspired character, while the wide-body silhouette and Martini livery lend it real visual drama. As an original French car with documented historic event participation, it offers an engaging entry into classic Porsche competition and touring.
