Description

Highlights:

– 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, petrol, manual transmission with overdrive
– Converted from rubber bumpers to chrome bumpers
– New gearbox, overdrive unit, clutch and fuel tank, all supplied by Limora
– Wire wheels, luggage rack and suitcase
– Three-point automatic seat belts and an additional electric radiator fan

The private seller offers for sale this 1975 MG MGB, powered by a 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine, paired with a manual transmission with overdrive. First registered in 1975, this MGB is finished in a pale yellow with a black interior and a black soft top. It has been converted from the rubber-bumper specification to chrome bumpers, which gives the car the lighter look of the earlier models, and it sits on wire wheels. A luggage rack with a period suitcase completes the touring character of the car.

The seller lists a new gearbox, a new overdrive unit, a new clutch and a new fuel tank, all supplied by Limora, together with three-point automatic seat belts and an additional electric fan for the radiator. The seller gives the mileage as 100000 km, but notes that the true mileage is unknown. The cabin is trimmed in black with a sporty steering wheel, and the car comes with a soft top.

Introduced in 1962, the MGB was built by MG at Abingdon in England for almost two decades and became the best-selling open sports car of its time, with more than half a million built. Its simple, robust B-series engine, light monocoque body and rack-and-pinion steering made it easy to drive and to maintain, and the wide availability of parts today keeps it one of the most accessible classic sports cars. The 1975 model year cars were fitted with the rubber bumpers introduced for the American market, which makes a conversion back to chrome an appealing change for many enthusiasts.
