The seller offers for sale this 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL Cabriolet, equipped with a 4.5-litre V8 petrol engine and automatic transmission. The car originates from Florida and was imported in 2020. The automatic gearbox has been serviced and fitted with new gaskets and seals. Currently it doesn’t run and major service is needed. The car remains in its original paint, which shows visible wear, small rust spots around the body, a dent in the left door and in the soft top compartment lid, and a previously filled rear left fender.
This SL is supplied with both a soft top and a hard top. The soft top shows light signs of use and remains watertight, while the mechanism works but may require adjustment . The hard top is in good condition with minor surface marks and good seals.
The Mercedes-Benz R107 series is one of the brand’s longest-produced SL generations and is appreciated worldwide for its timeless design and solid engineering. Combining open-top driving with V8 performance and classic Mercedes comfort, the 450 SL became especially popular in the United States. Its balanced proportions, chrome details and characteristic grille make it instantly recognisable. Today, the R107 is considered an attractive entry into classic Mercedes ownership, offering strong potential as a restoration project and a rewarding driving experience once brought back to optimal condition.
