The seller offers for sale this 1984 Mercedes-Benz 380 SE sedan powered by a 3.8-litre V8 petrol engine. Originally sold new in Italy, the car was purchased there by the current owner before undergoing a mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The engine, gearbox, and K-Jetronic injection system were completely rebuilt by specialist workshops in Italy. Sensors, injectors, gaskets, and idle control components were replaced, resulting in smooth and reliable operation. Compression readings are strong and consistent across all cylinders.
The car received a repaint in 2024 and has not been driven since. The brake system was overhauled with new master cylinder, calipers, discs, and hoses, while the front suspension joints were renewed. Inside, the original velour upholstery was replaced with high-quality fabric in a matching tone, and the wood trim was professionally restored. Only two minor issues remain: the steering box leaks slightly, and the air conditioning requires recharging annually. Otherwise, the car runs and drives as intended, it doesn’t show visible rust, has no accident history and doesn’t have any mechanical noise.
The Mercedes-Benz 380 SE belongs to the W126 S-Class generation, renowned for its engineering excellence, comfort, and timeless elegance. Introduced in 1979, the 380 SE offered advanced safety features, precise handling, and exceptional build quality. The V8 engine provided smooth performance, making it one of the most refined luxury sedans of its era. Today, it stands as a symbol of classic Mercedes craftsmanship—robust, stately, and ideal for collectors seeking reliability and sophistication.
