The seller offers for sale this 1956 Jaguar XK 140, powered by a 3.4-litre inline-six petrol engine, paired with a manual transmission. This car has been in the same family’s ownership for the past 30 years. It received a body-off restoration in England, and its engine was subsequently overhauled. More recently the cooling radiator was renewed and the carburettors were overhauled, and this year the ignition system was renewed together with all cables and contacts. According to the seller, all of this work is supported by invoices. The dashboard and seats retain an attractive patina, and the car presents in good condition overall.

The Jaguar XK 140 was introduced in 1954 as the successor to the XK 120 and remained in production until 1957. It was powered by Jaguar’s celebrated twin-overhead-cam XK inline-six of around 3.4 litres, an engine that had already established the marque’s reputation for performance. Compared with its predecessor, the XK 140 offered rack-and-pinion steering, more interior space and greater power, while retaining the flowing, elegant bodywork for which the XK series is admired. Offered in open and closed forms, the XK 140 is regarded today as one of the defining British sports cars of the 1950s and a cornerstone of Jaguar’s post-war heritage.
