Description

Cadillac LaSalle 345-B | 1931

Highlights:

– 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine, manual transmission
– Imported from the USA to Spain in 2021
– Registered in Spain with historic vehicle status
– Largely original and unrestored example
– Dual side-mounted spare wheels and rear-mounted luggage trunk

The seller offers for sale this 1931 Cadillac LaSalle 345-B, powered by a 5.7-litre V8 petrol engine, paired with a manual transmission. Finished in deep burgundy with black fenders and riding on wire wheels with whitewall tyres, this imposing sedan carries the classic pre-war attributes that make cars of this era so charismatic: dual side-mounted spare wheels, a large rear-mounted luggage trunk and a spacious cabin trimmed in tan cloth. According to the seller, the car is completely original throughout.

The car was purchased in the United States in 2021 and subsequently imported into Spain, where it was catalogued as a historic vehicle and registered accordingly. It has been driven only sparingly since, and it is offered here as an honest, unmolested representative of early 1930s American luxury motoring.

LaSalle was created by General Motors in 1927 as the companion marque to Cadillac, conceived to bridge the gap in the company’s carefully layered model range. Its cars were styled under the legendary Harley Earl, whose work for LaSalle is widely regarded as the starting point of professional automotive design in America. LaSalles were built by Cadillac, powered by Cadillac-derived V8 engines and finished to Cadillac standards, offering the prestige of the flagship marque in a slightly more accessible package. Early 1930s examples such as this one represent the marque at its most elegant, and surviving original cars are highly regarded among pre-war collectors.
