Description
Buick Riviera Cabriolet | 1985
Highlights:
– 5.0-liter V8 engine
– Automatic transmission
– Bordeaux red interior and paintwork
– White soft top
The 1985 Buick Riviera Convertible is a rare sight from the sixth generation of the Riviera. The convertible was not built as such on the regular production line: existing Riviera Coupés were converted and reinforced by American Sunroof Corporation (ASC). Only approximately 400 examples are believed to have been manufactured for the 1985 model year, making this version considerably rarer than the closed Riviera. Under the hood lies the 5.0-liter V8 gasoline engine, coupled to an automatic transmission. The car has front-wheel drive and seats four people.
This example features a classic American color combination: a red body, white convertible top, and a Bordeaux red interior. The car is in honest, unrestored, and visibly used condition. The paintwork is dull in several places and shows various signs of wear. The white convertible top also shows discoloration and wear along the seams and edges. The interior looks neat and is largely complete, with some signs of use consistent with its age. Characteristic details such as the wood trim, wire hubcaps, whitewall tires, and the burgundy cover for the convertible top are present.
