Finished in black and recently repainted, this B5 generation RS4 presents with its unmistakable widened wheel arches, aluminium-finish mirror housings and multi-spoke alloy wheels. Inside, the car features the sought-after RS4 Recaro sports seats in black leather with embossed RS4 logos, RS4 sill plates, a matching rear bench and a period Audi navigation and audio unit. Over the past year the seller has invested in a comprehensive round of work: the turbochargers have been rebuilt, the timing belt and clutch have been replaced, and the car received new front brake discs, new brake hoses and four new tyres. The seller is transparent about the one non-original element of the car: it is fitted with an Audi S4 2.7-litre biturbo V6, equipped with the RS4 turbochargers and RS4 intake system. The RS4 was introduced in 1999 as the successor to the legendary RS2 and was developed by quattro GmbH, Audi’s in-house performance division. Offered exclusively as an Avant, it combined estate car practicality with genuine supercar-rivalling performance. Its 2.7-litre biturbo V6 was reworked with engineering input from Cosworth Technology and produced 380 hp, sent to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system. Production ended in 2001 after just over 6,000 cars had been built, making the B5 RS4 one of the rarest and most collectible modern Audi performance models.
