Vehicles sold through Route 66 Auctions are purchased via online auctions. For this reason, the statutory right of withdrawal (the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason) does not apply. This exemption is established in European legislation for auction-based sales.
You cannot submit a claim once you have taken delivery of the vehicle. Accepting the vehicle (or any other lot) confirms the purchase. For this reason, we strongly recommend inspecting a vehicle before placing a bid in the auction.
How does the claim process work?
Investigation
Once a buyer submits a claim, the payment for the vehicle is temporarily placed on hold.
Evidence
The buyer must provide supporting evidence, such as photos, documents or other relevant materials.
Assessment
Route 66 Auctions reviews the claim and mediates between buyer and seller. The responsibility for resolving the matter ultimately lies with both parties involved.
Decision
After the investigation is completed, the payment is either released to the seller or refunded to the buyer.
