The seller offers for sale this 1972 Ford Ranchero, a distinctive American coupe utility combining the comfort of a passenger car with the practicality of a pickup. This example is powered by a 5.8-liter V8 engine running on petrol or LPG and paired with an automatic transmission. According to the seller, the car was imported from the United States in the early 2000s and has been in current ownership for approximately two years. During this time, several maintenance items were addressed including renewal of the ignition system, revision of the LPG evaporator, replacement of spark plugs and wiring, new oil and filter, and installation of four new Roadhog tires. The car is also equipped with Cherrybomb exhaust silencers, while the original silencers are included.

Project car. This car does not drive, brake and shift.
The engine currently has starting issues and produces unusual noises, and the car is described as running but not properly drivable due to suspected worn valves. The paintwork was previously applied in black and shows imperfections including scratches and dust inclusions. The interior features an original bench seat with visible wear and cracks, and the cabin shows signs of use but remains largely complete. The car has rust present in the bed, around the wheel arches and lightly on the bumpers. The current, but undocumented mileage is 77.000 miles.

The Ford Ranchero was introduced as a unique concept combining elements of a traditional passenger car with the practicality of a pickup bed. Based on Ford’s intermediate platforms, the Ranchero offered a more comfortable and car-like driving experience compared to conventional pickups, while still providing cargo capability. Models from the early 1970s featured bold styling, large V8 engines and a focus on versatility. Today the Ranchero is appreciated by enthusiasts for its distinctive design and its place in American automotive history as a crossover between utility and passenger vehicles.
