Description

Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Cabriolet | 1973

Highlights:

– 5.3-Litre, 12-cylinder petrol engine with manual transmission
– Low mileage of only 27.900 miles
– Repainted in original Pale Primrose Yellow
– Soft top and roof mechanism in good condition
– Valid Swiss technical inspection and ready to drive

The seller offers for sale a 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 Roadster, a matching-colour Pale Primrose Yellow example with manual transmission. Delivered new in New York, it was later acquired by a collector in Beverly Hills where it remained until his passing in 2018. Purchased by the current owner in 2019 with only 20,043 original miles, the car was in untouched condition and accompanied by its factory hardtop, which is not included in this auction but may be purchased separately. The body has been professionally repainted in its original colour after the front bumper horns were removed, with all inner surfaces still in original paint. The soft top operates smoothly and quietly, though the fabric has been repaired on both sides. The interior retains its original leather, carpets, radio with instructions and complete set of manuals and wiring diagrams, all in well preserved condition. Mechanically the car is described as solid: no starting hesitation, no blue or white smoke when warm, no unusual engine or gearbox noises and smooth shifting. The E-Type has power steering, disc brakes and air-conditioning, is free of visible rust, accident-free and holds a Swiss technical inspection.

The unrestored hard top is optionally available for an additional charge of €6.000,-

The Jaguar E-Type V12 represents the final evolution of one of Britain’s most celebrated sports cars. Introduced in the early 1970s, the V12 models combined the timeless lines of the E-Type with smoother, more refined power delivery. The convertible variant offers relaxed grand-touring character, supported by improved cooling, stronger brakes and greater mechanical sophistication than earlier series. The V12 engine provides ample torque, making the car suitable for both spirited drives and long-distance journeys. Collectors appreciate the Series 3 for its blend of classic E-Type beauty with enhanced usability and comfort. Well-preserved, low-mileage examples with original features—such as this one—are increasingly sought after, especially when accompanied by documented history and participation in concours and international events.
