The seller offers for sale a Porsche 356 B 1600 Roadster from 1961, built by the Belgian coachbuilder D’Ieteren Frères. Production was limited to 473 units for serial numbers: 89011 to 89483, making this Roadster one of the rarest 356 variants. Originally delivered by Sonauto France on June 30, 1961, the car’s history traces back to the early 2000s when it belonged to Dutch tennis champion Richard Krajicek. A professional restoration appears to have been completed around that time. The previous owner acquired it from Porsche Gelderland BV in 2008. The current owner participated in the Tour Auto rallies of 2021 and 2024. The car starts easily, runs smoothly without smoke or noise, and the gearbox operates quietly. It has never suffered accident damage, doesn’t show visible rust and remains faithful to its original specification. Although the mileage is 56,400 km, this cannot be fully documented.
This Porsche 356 B 1600 Roadster represents the essence of open-top motoring from the early 1960s. The 356 series established Porsche’s global reputation for precision handling, reliability, and timeless style. The 1600 engine delivers lively performance, while the lightweight construction and balanced chassis provide a rewarding driving experience. Built by D’Ieteren, these late-production Roadsters combine elegance with mechanical purity and are highly sought after among collectors. Few models capture the charm and heritage of Porsche’s early years as gracefully as this one.
