The seller offers for sale this elegant 1948 Jaguar MK IV sedan, powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine and equipped with a manual gearbox. This vehicle has been part of the same family since 1951 and was optically restored between 2000 and 2005. During the restoration, every component was dismantled, repaired, or renewed, including welding and mechanical work, while the paintwork was professionally applied in 2003. The result is a beautiful finish with each body panel, fender, bonnet, roof, and door individually painted. The car retains its original leather interior, which shows charming age-related patina. The engine was overhauled in the late 1990s, receiving new pistons, bearings, and valves, and has had all seals replaced about six years ago. The car starts easily, produces no smoke, and the gearbox shifts smoothly without any noise. It has not suffered any accident or visible corrosion and remains in fine running order.
Introduced just after World War II, the Jaguar MK IV represented a return to luxury motoring for the British marque. Known for its refined craftsmanship, elegant proportions, and smooth ride, the MK IV quickly became a symbol of prestige in the late 1940s. The model combined pre-war design elegance with post-war reliability, offering solid engineering and stately performance. Its distinct grille and flowing fenders made it an icon of British automotive style. Collectors value the MK IV today for its blend of classic charm and enduring quality, making it a desirable addition to any vintage car collection.
