The seller offers for sale this Citroën Traction Avant 7C from 1939, a fine example of one of the most innovative pre-war sedans. This car was produced on 11 July 1939 in France, as confirmed by its Citroën authenticity certificate. It remained registered in the Vaucluse region until 1954, before being imported to the Netherlands in 1986. The vehicle was later moved to Belgium, where it underwent a restoration completed in 2014, followed by minimal use and display at several classic car exhibitions. In 2023, it was re-registered in the Netherlands with valid documentation.
During the restoration, the body was stripped to bare metal, repaired where necessary, and refinished in multiple coats of primer and paint. Chrome parts were replaced or refurbished as needed, and the underbody was treated for long-term preservation. The interior was reupholstered using period-correct materials and patterns, including new seat padding and matching carpets. Mechanically, the car received a overhaul with attention to the suspension, engine, and gearbox. It starts easily, runs smoothly with no smoke or noise, and shifts precisely through the manual transmission.

The Citroën Traction Avant, introduced in 1934, was a revolutionary car that redefined automotive engineering. It was one of the first mass-produced cars with front-wheel drive, a monocoque body, and independent suspension—technologies far ahead of their time. The 7C variant featured a 1.9-litre engine offering a perfect balance between performance and refinement. Renowned for its road-holding and elegant design, the Traction Avant remains a symbol of French innovation and craftsmanship, still admired for its style and driving comfort more than eight decades later.
