The seller offers for sale this 1980 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 T-Top, finished in metallic silver and delivered new in the Netherlands. This example has known ownership history from first registration, with only three owners in total—one of whom kept the car for over 25 years. A rare survivor in original configuration, this 280ZX includes the factory 2+2 layout with occasional rear seating and features the popular T-top roof with original storage covers.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 2.8-litre inline-six, the car is paired with a manual transmission and drives the rear wheels. At around 240,000 km, the engine was professionally rebuilt by a Nissan dealer, after which the gearbox and clutch were also replaced. More recently, the car has undergone significant maintenance, including new fuel and coolant hoses, a thermostat, spark plugs and wires, air intake components, oil, fuel and air filters, and power steering hoses. The oil in the engine, transmission and differential was changed, and the suspension has benefited from replacement shock absorbers under prior ownership.
The paintwork remains largely in good condition. Two small blemishes are noted around the fuel filler area, and the front fenders were once replaced by the first owner, finished to a high standard. A prior scratch on the left rear was professionally repaired. The underside was re-protected with fresh underseal in 2021, including internal cavities. The alloy wheels have been refurbished and fitted with chrome lug nuts.
Inside, the beige upholstery is clean and complete. The only noted defect is a small burn mark and wear spot on the driver’s seat, which has been patched. Replacement floor mats have been fitted. The dash, gauges, and controls are in working order, including the air conditioning and radio with electric antenna. The interior presents well overall and has not been exposed to smoking.
The car drives, brakes and shifts well. Lights and indicators function correctly, and the current Dutch roadworthiness inspection (APK) is valid through April 2026.
Introduced in 1978 as the successor to the 260Z, the Datsun 280ZX marked a shift in Nissan’s Z-car lineup, placing a greater emphasis on refinement and comfort without abandoning its sporting roots.
